Transvac Systems have secured orders (on behalf of Hyde Marine Inc) to supply Ballast Water Treatment Equipment for two more Batch 3 River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels (vessels 4 & 5) that will be built at BAE Systems’ Govan yard. The repeat orders are for Hyde HG60G units which are designed to process 60m3/hr of ballast water and are scheduled for delivery in 2017.

The Hyde Gold Units represents the company’s latest range of equipment. Whilst the footprints are 50% smaller (when compared to the previous Galaxy Filter designed units) , the units feature a number of distinct advantages which include continuous and increased flow to tanks during ballasting, the ability to handle heavy organic and sediment loading and up to 30% reduction in peak power consumption.

The Hyde Guardian Gold BWTS is an effective and reliable solution that combines efficient filtration and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection. Standard systems are available for flow rates from 60 m3/hr to 6000 m3/h

HMS Forth (as shown in above view) will be the first of the Batch 3 River Class to enter service and the HG60G BWT unit will be commissioned during the vessel’s HATs scheduled for early next year.
