Transvac and Hyde engineers successfully set to work three Hyde Guardian Shipsets which were delivered to A&P's Falmouth yard during July 2012.

This latest delivery forms part of the Ministry of Defence's continued commitment towards providing platforms which meet the requirements of UK legislation and international conventions as set out under MEPC.174(58)

Lyme Bay's Ballast Water Arrangement now includes:

  • 1 x HG600 Shipset installed in the Forward AMR Space

  • 2 x HG600X (Atex Approved) Shipsets installed in the Port and Starboard Landrover Bays.

As far as Hyde are aware, the Lyme Bay will be the first Military Amphibious Support Ship to return to service with a ballast water system that complies with the latest resolution. The Lyme Bay is a Specialist Theatre Role Vessel which incorporates an extensive ballasting capability to allow embarkation and disembarkation of heavy vehicles and Landing Craft via a Well Dock whilst the vessel is ballasted down during amphibious operations.
