Fort Austin's New Vacuum Sanitary System Commissioned

Transvac Systems were awarded an extensive contract to design and supply a new Vacuum Sanitary System to suit black and grey water requirements onboard RFA Fort Austin as part of the vessel's major refit program which has taken place at Cammell Laird's Birkenhead Yard during 2011 and 2012.
The contract formed part of a major retrofit package and comprised:
2 x Evac OnlineFlex 2F60 Vacuum Generation Plants.
144 x Evac 910 Vacuum Toilets.
7 x Evac Vacuum Interface Valves.
1 x Bespoke Interface Slop-Hopper.
The Grey and Black Water mains were formed in Lorowerk Galvanised Steel Lightweight Pushfit sections which wer also supplied by Transvac Systems.
The entire system was set to work during July 2012 prior to live-onboard.
