New Ballast Water Treatment Unit For RFA Fort Austin

Transvac systems have recently won an order to supply a Hyde Guardian HG200 Skid Mounted Unit to process the ballast water onboard RFA Fleet Support Ship Fort Austin.

The unit which treats up to 200 m3/hr of ballast water does not require any active chemicals as part of the process and currently complies with the latest IMO G2 Guidelines which are due to come into force after full ratification in 2012.

The equipment is scheduled for delivery during March 2012 and will be commissioned in April when the vessel completes an extensive refit at Cammell Laird's Birkenhead Yard.
